Castles

Her favorite thing to do lately is build castles with the blocks Grandpa made her.  We try to make them as extravagant as possible. She's always saying we're almost done, but usually she has to have every block out of the box and in its place before she's satisfied. The castle has to include furniture and stairs too.  Then she pulls out her little figurines and she plays princesses. It entertains her for hours.

Hold Me!

I probably hear,"hold me" 100 times a day.  I'm not always in a position where I can hold her. Mostly because she chooses the most crazy parts of my day.  Usually when I'm making dinner or we're about ready to sit down for dinner. It kind of drives me crazy! I know she's getting bigger.  I know I won't be able to hold her like this for much longer.  This time I picked her up.  It didn't last for long because dinner was on the stove, but she was all smiles.  Short breaks are good.  Someday I'll miss this.

Audrey 3 yr videos

I thought I would do a turning three video so that I could remember her favorite things.

This video is for Auntie Tam, she requested a song. This is Audrey's favorite right now.  She's asks me to sing it to her every night. Beauty and the Beast "Something There".

Audrey's Princess Party

Today was Audrey's Party.  She's been talking about it for weeks, "Tea Party with my friends Mama?"  Well today was the big day.  Her uncle Grant drove clear from San Antonio to see her on her special day. I kept telling her that when he got here that we would have her party.  She was so happy to see him this morning.
I've never seen her smile so big for so long. I got her ready just before the party started.  We stopped to take some pictures and she was being such a stinker, she refused to look at me.  I'm still amazed that we got anything.  It's a good thing I had Grant here to help me get her to smile.  I finished her cake (pink with pink sprinkles as per her request) and she told me she wanted to eat it.  She wasn't happy when I told her she had to wait for her friends.  Waiting is hard for a 3 year old.
Her party went perfectly.  Her friends/cousins were so sweet to bring her gifts.  She got a lot of princess stuff from Ezra which she carried around in a bag all day today.  No one could touch anything.  She got a camera from Jane and Dean which she was really excited about when we got it up and running.  She's taking pictures like her Mama now.  I'm excited to see what she does with it.
I love this little girl so much.  I can't believe that she is 3.  I still can hardly believe that I'm a Mom and yet I have a 3 year old.  She is so sweet.  She loves to snuggle.  She loves to read books.  She loves princesses and dressing up like princesses.  She constantly refers to herself as princess Audrey.  She sings 24/7....it almost never stops.  She loves to cook, in her kitchen and in mine.  She loves to watch Cinderella, Frozen, Mickey Mouse Club House, and Sophia the First.  She loves to be chased and to dance.  She always pulling me into the living room to dance with her.  She's the best thing that has ever happened to us.  Happy Birthday baby girl!

Singing....I told you it never stops.

A Trip to Aunt M's house

We went to hang out with Aunt M last week.  Audrey always loves it there.  It's like Disney.  She never gets bored.  They have the best toys, and plenty of kids to play with.   I love it there too.  I get to talk to Aunt M and just relax. Much needed.
I couldn't get her to part with these umbrellas. She loved having her own to carry around.

Thanks for letting us play!

Fancy Audrey and Markers

I'm going to start calling this little girl Fancy Audrey. She comes downstairs in the morning and layers on her necklaces, bracelets and her tutus.  Then she puts on her "glass slippers" and then one of her crowns.  I can't help but be reminded of the Fancy Nancy books.   Halloween?  If only I hadn't already bought her costume. for this year.  Maybe next year.  I'm already thinking about how awesome it would be.
When she's sick of the camera she glares at me.
She found the markers.  I'm the type of Mom that hides them from her.  I really don't want marker to be all over her clothes.  I made the mistake of leaving them out on the table the night before.  She found them and she was so happy...I couldn't say no.  We colored for at least an hour. The papers that cover the front of my fridge are now proof of her artistic capabilities, as well as my table.  It's okay, I don't mind.

My Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed

It's a Monday.  I found myself sitting on the couch twiddling my fingers.  I had already gone on a "Walk" with Audrey and her dolls around the living room 3 times.  It was time to do something I wouldn't normally do.
I LET her jump on my bed.  She was having such a fun time that I had to pull out the camera.  She had to jump with each one of her toys. In between jumps she fashioned a necklace out of my belt.  She was pretty excited about it, especially the fact that it was pink.
 Screaming.

She went from jumping on the bed to putting a bucket on her head.  I guess you're never too old for peek-a-boo.  She would scream, "There she is" every time she took pulled it off  It was an eventful morning to say the least.
She got quite the workout.  You would never know that I did her hair this morning topped with a bow.  I can't tame her hair during the summer!  I love this little monkey.
