Mini Mission Reunion

Paul had some really awesome mission companions that we really enjoy spending time with.  This last weekend we all got together and had dinner.  I had big plans to play games, eat dinner, and then surprise everyone with napolitanas (a Spanish pastry that Paul loves).  I was discouraged about the napolitanas when I found out what the butter to flour ratio was....crazy!  I decided it would be better if I didn't witness what was going into the dough and called the Mexican Market.  They said they probably wouldn't make it till "maybe Thursday....no maybe Friday".  Paul decided to give them a day extra just in case.  Saturday morning we go and they have no dough, they say they "probably" won't make any until that evening. I'm not sure if they will ever really make it. Needless to say, the only thing that worked out was dinner.  Next time I will have to prepare weeks ahead of time.  Despite the lack of extra fat in our diets it turned out really well.  I enjoyed playing catch up on everyone's life. So much has happened since we last saw everyone.  They all have beautiful little families! We will miss them.

Audrey Singing

Since I got home from Texas I've been taking voice again.  It's been nice singing with no grades or judgments assigned to what I have accomplished.  Audrey isn't so good at taking naps lately so we've done a lot of practicing together.  She likes to sing along whenever she hears me sing.
Here she is last week hours before my recital.

Paul's Graduation

The Marriott Center was so quiet as the ceremony began.  I swear the only thing anyone could hear aside from the organ was one little voice screaming "Da Da Da Da!".  I tried to quiet her...even though I was secretly proud that she was cheering him on.  The man next to me was laughing because he knew as well as I did that she was trying to steal the show.  The two kids behind me were trying desperately to keep her attention arguing over who she liked more.  In my opinion I think it was the little boy because every chance his 4 year old sister had she was trying to pinch Audrey's cheeks.  She kept saying they were so squishy.  I was wiping away the water that kept escaping my eyes as the graduates entered.
I knew this day would come but at the same time it seemed so far away. I am so proud of him.

I might have gotten a little overly excited.  Paul's face....priceless!

Congrats to the worlds greatest husband and Da Da.  We love you!

Once a Year

Yesterday was my birthday. Yes Friday the 13th. I kept waiting for something to go wrong. Nothing ever did. As Friday the 13th goes it was rather uneventful. As birthdays go it couldn't have been better.
For the first time in a long time I woke up to Paul next to me. I can probably count on my hands the amount of times that has happened. Maybe that's why I love it so much.

We went out to lunch with Paul's parents. It was sooo good. I'm still thinking about those enchiladas.

Paul and I had our family pictures printed. This was particularly important considering one of the prints was going to replace the not so amazing picture of my high school former self at my parents house. When I got it up on the wall I had to gaze for a little while just to make sure it had actually happened.

Paul may have bought me a DLSR. I may have cried. I may have watched the clock until the battery charged, and then wandered around taking pictures like I was some awesome photographer. I have a lot (understatement) to learn. Then I may have thought for hours about how so many other people deserve it more than I do...... but I am so excited to take great pictures of this girl.

My family made me dinner and baked me a German Chocolate Cake (Mom's recipe....my favorite). They sang the "Craven" fashion birthday song and then as always I blew out all my candles but one. Depressing. But I'm getting over it.

I got to finish the day at my sisters house watching the new muppet show. The beginning was a little scary...but over all if you have a place in your heart for the muppets then you can't go wrong. Meh naw meh naw...do do do do do.

Thanks to everyone for an AMAZING birthday. It meant so much to have everyone there. I will miss you sooooo much when I go.
