A Day In The Life Of Audrey

The click of my heels on the floor means Audrey's not too far.  A day with Audrey usually means at some point during the day I will have to wear the colander on my head.  Apparently, is the best hat in the house.  My kitchen mat will usually disappear at least once to become a bed for Bubba.. We will make animals noises and read "booKKKs".  We will both cheer as she builds towers and lines up figurines. And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love this little girl!

Gardening

Paul made me these amazing boxes for me.  He's the best husband in the whole world.  It took him two Saturdays and and us an evening of planting to get to where we are.  I'm scared.  I've never grown anything in my life.  I relied on my husbands knowledge (his Mom is the master gardener).  Then as we are planting last night he says, "I have no idea what I'm doing".  I thought one of us did, now that I know that neither of us do I guess it's a matter of prayer.  Yes I pray for produce.  All I want is a few tomatoes and maybe a strawberry.  That would make my day....fresh off the vine.  Can you imagine?  I can almost taste it.
If you would like to pray for my garden I would welcome it.  I think I might be obsessed.  I don't think it's healthy.  I look out the window several times a day.
Audrey's mad because I stole some of her play area.  She likes to hit the plants. I hope someday she is as excited about the garden as I am, until then I will continue to stand guard.
Wish me luck.  I'm going to need it.

Pony Rides

We have some friends in the ward that were having a birthday party for their 6 year old son and were kind enough to invite Audrey.  She loves animals in books but I never thought that would translate into real life.  She has no fear.  She loved these ponies.  When she could reach she would try to push his hair out of his face so she could see his eyes.  Then she waited as patiently as an 18 month old could for her ride.
The family also has several dogs, cats, chickens, and bunnies.  For Audrey it was the local petting zoo.  She went around making animal noises as she followed their two dogs around.
Someday we will have to make it to the Zoo.

The Bayou

I was telling Paul months ago that I would give anything just to be able to spend a day with my brother.  We used to spend almost every waking hour together and now we both have families and I live in another state.
I got a call from him on Tuesday saying that he was 4 hours away and he was on his way to see me.  Audrey and I got to spend a day and a half with him.  We ate lots of Blue Bell, caught up on each others lives, and went to an alligator sanctuary .  It was a perfect day.
Michael's best cheese

Just woke up
The Bayou
We saw lots of these...huge ones and not so huge ones.

This dude turned around right on cue and posed for us.  We thanked him.
This was the highlight of our day.  Audrey got to pet an Alligator...or rather squeeze its head.  Michael and I got to hold it.  We agreed it was pretty much the awesomest thing we've ever done.
Thanks for coming to visit Michael!  Thank you Chrissy for sharing him!
