Summer Nights

It's blazing HOT!!  We went Swimming. It was her first time, and she loved it. She had to share her water with my feet.  I sat there in the sunshine watching her thinking that nothing could be better.  All I needed was a tall glass of cold lemonade and a good book.  Maybe next time I'll be prepared.
To all the Mom's out there....if you don't have a pool you should get one.

Not Enough Hours

I have too many hobbies for hours in the day.  There are so many things I want to do: practice the piano, write out a lesson plan for my next voice lesson, take pictures, blog, make Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread, and the list goes on. But sometimes I just have to sit down with my little girl and watch Cinderella.  She always gets so excited when Cinderella finally gets to go to the ball, and she gets scared for the mice when they are trying to get by Lucifer. I wish I had popcorn, add that to the list of groceries I was supposed to pick up today.  But I'm not sorry.  It's the little moments that make me realize that the hobbies can wait.  I'm spending the day with my little girl.

The Day Has Finally Come...

It's long enough to put into a bow!  Isn't she cute?  If it keeps growing like this she will have a full head of hair in no time.  Love this baby little girl.

Reunion Pictures

Family pictures.  I kind of want to make this an annual thing.  I'm so excited to get this printed and on my wall!  I love the way these turned out.  Thank you everyone for being so cooperative.  If you want copies of these or any other picture I have posted let me know and I will send you a copy.  Love you all.  Thanks for coming to visit.

Kendall Reunion 3

Brazos Bend. This is not the first nor the last time you will see pictures of this on my blog.  This place is sweet!  I went with Mike two months ago and I was still excited to go again.  We didn't have a lot of success this time, we weren't seeing as many Gators as I have in the past.  The last trail we walked turned out to be a gold mine.  Notice: I have a prime lens...there is no zoom involved in these photos.  They were RIGHT THERE.  The guy on the dock was warning us to keep a hold of our little ones. If Audrey wasn't screaming half of the time then I'm sure Paul and I would have enjoyed it a lot more.  Even still, the weather was perfect and it's gorgeous out there.

Kendall Reunion 2

We had a really lazy Sunday morning.  When we got back from church Paul's Mom made us dinner.  After the kids went to bed we helped ourselves to 4 different kinds of cookies and played a get to know you game.  I know people were skeptical but I think they found out some interesting things about each other that they didn't know before hand.  I know I did.
Looking at these pictures makes me happy!

Family Reunion

The Kendall's came to Texas  Everyone stayed at our house and we partied like it was 1999 all week long.  It was so fun to have family at my house.  It was fun to stay up late playing games, watching movies, eating cookies, and talking.  It was nice having men around to carry my groceries in the afternoon, and an extra hand to hold Audrey.    It was fun coloring, cooking good food, and going really cool places.  Most of all it was just nice to see all of Paul's family in one place.  I really enjoy watching Paul spend time with his brothers and his parents.  I get this small glimpse of the Paul I dated in high school when they are all together.    I think it's safe to say that we miss not having them within driving distance.

Audrey loved reading stories with Grandpa Rod.  She is officially a Cinderella junky and I don't know what to do about it. I guess I'll just have to embrace my inner princess.
The first full day they were here we packed a lunch and spent some time at the splash pad.  Grant was the only one in his swimming suit running around with the kids.  I think they really like him.

Please hold me Mom.  Something about having other people here made this girl a little more clingy than usual.

Using my Backdrop

This is my good friend Becky.  She's awesome.  I don't know what I would do without her.
She wanted to take some pictures of her little girl with one of her old dresses from when she was a baby.  I have so much to learn but I am so excited about taking pictures using the backdrop frame Paul built me.

Strawberries

This morning I ate my first fresh strawberry.  Dare I say it was the best thing I have ever tasted.  AMAZING.  I think I might get to make jam this year, if I don't eat them all before that time comes.

An Annual Thing

It was my birthday. For the first time since we got married Paul was able to spend the entire day with me.  No finals, no work....it really was the best birthday present ever.
We had breakfast together.
Paul made me an ice cream cake, bought me a cheese cake, and built me an indoor photography backdrop. It might be a while before I eat sugar again.
She wasn't really interested in being my test subject. Little does she know that this is the first of many pictures to come.
Tired, and wants to eat the cheese cake without waiting for the birthday song.  Me, afraid she's going to burn herself.  Laughing because this is picture is going to make great memories.
I would venture to say it was the best birthday ever,
until I got a call from my sister saying my Dad was in the hospital.
My brothers and brother-in-laws were taking down a tree at my grandma's house.  A c-clamp that was supposed to take one of the branches down detached and went flying at my Dad's face at freight train speed.  In short he was bleeding everywhere.  He was taken to the hospital where he was given a crazy amount of stitches and later went back for surgery to put three metal plates in his head.
I am grateful he is alive.
