My Family

People tell me she looks like him. I'm pretty sure she does :) ...except for the ears which are sadly mine. I love that smile!

5 Months!

I decided to venture out of the apartment today. These four walls were starting to close in on me. I had plans to go on a walk. Winter has disappeared lately and replaced itself with the Sun. Unfortunately the day I decide to get out it rears it's ugly head again. Instead I found myself at my parents house. Audrey has been 5 months for two weeks and I still haven't taken pictures. Kimberly graciously offered to share her sweet skills.

We went about rearranging the living room to have the perfect back drop. This is the magic we made...
Meet George. This is Audrey's best friend! Literally. He goes everywhere with her because if she has a melt down he's the only one that can make her happy. He likes to take rides in the car seat. He doesn't might receiving too many kisses or being chewed on. Through it all he always has a smile on his face. We Love George!

She's Sitting

We hit another milestone last week. My baby sits! I know everyone out there might be rolling their eyes right now, but I can't help it, I'm super proud of her.

Getting distracted by the carpet was not recoverable.

Saturday Naps

These are the moments that I love.

The New Year

If it's not too late....HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I can't believe another year has past. Paul is graduating in 4 months and I can't contain my excitement. For me this means I will no longer share my evenings and weekends with homework or studying. I don't know if it's even possible....because it's all I've ever known. I have a feeling I'm going to like life on the outside!
To start off the New Year Audrey rolled over for the first time today. I laid her on her back, I came back from dishing myself up some delicious New Years food and she was on her stomach. I can't believe I missed it. Way to go baby girl! I can't believe how fast you are growing.

I had to document this. Terrible pictures because my video camera doesn't have a flash. My Brother was showing his oldest son how to eat a steak like a Man. He just sat there and ate it right off his fork. Hilarious. Good job Buddy! I think you did a pretty good job at being a man for the first time.

Christmas

The Christmas that keeps on giving because it's taken me forever to post it!!

I've been thinking a lot about traditions as this year comes to a close. I want Christmas to be memorable for all the right reasons. I want warm ginger snaps and rice pudding with just a hint of cinnamon on top. I want to put up the tree as a family. I want to go caroling to the older couples and the widows in my neighborhood. I want to help a family in need. I want the smell of evergreen to fill my home (even if it's just a candle). I want to read stories like the Christmas Carol, The Mansion, and Luke 2. I want family game night, Christmas Eve dinner, and pie on Christmas morning for breakfast.
Next year Paul and I may spend Christmas alone and I guess that's why I've been thinking about the traditions we are going to carry on. The most important thing I think is just to spend time together. There's not a lot of time during the year when everyone is off, so Christmas time is such a valuable time for me.
This year was Audrey's first Christmas and while she probably doesn't remember it I was glad that she got to spend time with all the people we love. Unfortunately there was a virus that ravaged through my parents house and just about everyone ended out with the screaming barfies. I was hit the day after Christmas...not awesome. Paul's families Christmas got cut short for me. I'm just glad I didn't pass it on. I feel bad that Paul has had to spend most of his vacation taking care of me but I'm grateful he was there to help with Audrey.
I'm glad someone documented one of the Christmas' because I sure didn't. Thanks Kim!
As you can see it was quite chaotic at my parents house....but that's why I LOVE it!

I'm sure that Rod took some pictures at our second Christmas...I'll have to hunt some down.
