Thanksgiving Trip 2

While in Utah we went to the aquarium for the first time.  Audrey spent quite a bit of time watching the otters.  They are her favorite.  She made sure to tell me that she wanted one for a pet.  I wish I could deliver but sadly a dog will have to suffice.  We had a wonderful dinner at both houses and enjoyed the company of so much family.
We played games and visited with Paul's parents and brothers.  Grant always knows what the best games are and never fails to deliver on showing us a good time.  He has even made a few of his own; one of which Audrey got to play with him.  I think she has been inspired by her uncle because she has made three full games since leaving last November.  A couple of them have been fairly promising. I told Paul we should go into game making and Audrey can be head of the creative department.

Holiday Photos

Yes I'm taking a reminiscent journey backwards these days.  With all the crazy that the end of last year and the beginning of this year has brought I have been less than on top of things.
We took these photos in November for our Christmas card.  When we finally got out it was cold and the light was pretty bad.  The place I'd planned to take them ended out being a bad idea so we dealt.  Audrey wasn't super cooperative  but who would be when it was cold and we were all tired.  I think I've retired from taking family photos on my own, using a timer on my camera was never the best idea.
The last photo of these shots was taken by my sister when the lighting was so much better.  I owe her because it's been years since we've had a family photo.  I love it, especially Audrey's genuine smile.  I'm secretly hoping that she will take maternity pictures for me before I have this little one.

Last Thanksgiving

Let's reminisce about the past for a few minutes.  I don't really miss the snow right now.  I had enough of that this last winter to last for a while.  The things I do miss...talking and being with family and friends, and a good old fashioned hug.  It might be another few weeks before I get those things so for now I'm looking at old photos that I forgot to post, all while wishing for better days ahead.
Look at these smiles.  I love Audrey's cousins!  This last trip to Utah I got to spend some quality time with my bestie Sierra playing video games.  I forgot to take her out for ice cream, which just means I'll have to do it the next time we're together.  Audrey became fast friends with these boys and tells me daily how much she misses them. It's not often Audrey gets to spend time with Madison.  She seems to have quite a few cousins her age that weren't there this time we visited.  It was sweet of her to take Audrey under her wing and play with her and the boys while she was here.  I can't say enough about how much I miss these faces.  Until next time...
