A Morning at the Park

We found a gorgeous park downtown.  It doesn't have a playground but it's beautiful and peaceful.  I think Audrey enjoyed it as much as we did.
We went there to scope out a new place to take pictures.  I was very pleased with what I found.  There were dozens of seasoned photographers there taking pictures of families.  They had these massive lenses and and even some lighting equipment.  I felt like I didn't fit in, but I had a lot of fun taking pictures for a friend.
They are moving from our little neighborhood to another country.  We will miss them!  Audrey loves their boys.  I'm pretty sure she has a crush on the one her age. Notice where her hand is in the picture below.  I thought it was so cute.  His Mom and I have joked about an arranged marriage.
Someday Audrey will read this and shake her head at how crazy her Mother was.

Bath Time

She loves bubble baths.  She begs for her princess bubbles (the bottle has princesses on it). She can't get enough. I'm not so sure I feel the same....with the challenge of rinsing her hair in bubble water.  And I never can get all the bubbles of her legs and feet before I pull her out, but it's all worth it for this smile.  By the time I'm able to convince her to get out, her fingers and toes look like prunes an there's water all over the floor.  She always tells me she's swimmin.  I guess we're going to have to take her to a real pool soon so she can really go swimming.

Birthday Party

Last weekend we went to a birthday party and a baptism.  It was a fun day spent with people we love.  Paul got to go motorcycle shopping which he talked about the rest of the day.  No he's not getting one, he was just window shopping. It was good man time.
H. was showing Audrey her collection of girly things and of course she had to wear it all.  I've got a real diva on my hands.  She often refers to herself as Princess Audrey.  That could me my fault.

I got to take pictures of the birthday boy.  Isn't he so handsome?

Singing on the Potty

Last Sunday I was helping Audrey go to the bathroom.  While she was sitting there she broke out into song.  It was the loudest I have ever heard her sing.  "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam to shine for him each day."  Immediately the lady in the stall next to us started laughing.  I don't know where she gets her bravery from but it's not me.  I hope she's never afraid to sing for someone else.
My sister called me a week ago and inspired me.  It's been a long time since I have done all things music.  I stopped writing music.  I stopped singing songs that are challenging.  I stopped listening to music.  After she told me to get myself in gear and write a song I sat down at the piano and realized what has been missing from my life.  As I listened to music yesterday to get inspired I felt the same thing. I love being a musician!  I'm not as happy when it's not a part of my day to day.
So this ranting is for good reason.  I'm writing a song.  It's going to take a while.  I don't feel like I've gotten very far and writers block is my constant companion, but I'm going to keep writing.  I'll post a video when I'm done.
This little girl is my muse.

Pictures: This was last Saturday.  She gave me a crown and ring to put on, put the mirror in my hand, and started to brush my hair.  She kept telling me that she was making me pretty.

A Day in the Life of Audrey

This afternoon I was talking with my brother.  Audrey was on the potty.  When I heard her scream, "Yucky Yucky Mama!"  I walked into the bathroom to find her sitting on the potty with poop all over her hands, poop on the floor, and poop on the toys she brought into the bathroom with her.  I said goodbye to my brother.  As I'm cleaning her up she wipes her hand on her face. She doesn't really understand the spreading of things so my freaking out did no good.  It only got worse before I got it all cleaned up.
I'm pretty sure it topped the charts on Motherhood messes for me so far.  I'm just confused at how one ends up with poop in her hands.  I know she likes her independence but I think I'm going to have to start having an open door policy when it comes to the bathroom.  At least until we get this mystery cleared up.
After the bathroom incident I was watching her ride her rocking horse.  She looked at me and said, "His name Max, he's a boy horse Mama".   I laughed. Until today we had a nameless horse but today his name is Max and he's a boy. I love having conversations with this little girl!
Right now she's singing at the top of her lungs in her bed.  I think naps are going to be a sweet past time.
