A Party of Two

We had a fancy dinner for two.  Audrey likes to do these often.  I think her favorite part is decorating the table.  It's kind of her thing. I was happy to find that the Book of Mormon was her centerpiece this time.  :)
Of course one has to get dressed up for these events.  She had to have the pink chapstick, the crown, and the necklace before we started.
I love that she is hardly ever outside of her imagination.  We are always on an adventure of some sort.  The only bad part about the imagination is that sometimes it runs wild.  We had a long talk the other night about scary things and how we are in charge of our imaginations.  Sometimes our imaginations can trick us into thinking something is there when it's not, or that a sound is something it's not. Audrey is living proof.  We had to give half of her animal friends the boot because they became scary looking things at night.  Don't worry, Bubba is still on the safe list.
Speaking of the Book of Mormon...several sentences ago.  :)  We finished reading it for the year.  Yay!   I am so proud of this little girl.  She always reminds me when I forget to read to her.
The other day we were driving in the car and she asked me when she was going to turn eight.  I explained, and then she said, "that's when I can get baptized right (more about that here)?".  I told her she was right and that's why we were reading the scriptures so that she could make the choice when she turned eight.  She acted a little offended and came back with, "Mom I already know I want to get baptized!".   Then I asked her, "So you know that Heavenly Father and Jesus live?  You know that the scriptures we've been reading are true? You know what you've been learning in primary is true?   She replied emphatically, "YES!" to every question.  I might have been a little misty eyed.  For a moment I felt like I had done something right.  I may not always be the best Mom, I fail everyday, but today she "knows" and that's all that matters..
She teaches me so much everyday.  She teaches me things like: humility, forgiveness, love, kindness, and unwavering faith.  The things she doesn't teach me by example I learn by being her Mom.  No wonder we are supposed to become as little children.  Sigh...one day at a time!  Being a Mom is the best thing ever!
