I didn't realize when I moved here that winter would take away my ability and desire to take pictures anywhere but inside. My friend approached me and asked if I would take her family pictures and I shuttered at the thought of doing it in the winter snow. She reassured me that she knew of a studio close by that we could take them at.
I dropped by to take a look at the studio and I felt a little nervous at the thought of using studio lights and being there taking pictures on a dark day.
In effort to make myself feel more confident I decided to take my family and practice. I was excited to get a good family photo. I got so distracted that I didn't grab my tripod so the family shot didn't happen. However, I am grateful for the shots I did get. In the end I just decided to use the natural light and a couple standing lights and they turned out great. The guy at the studio was so nice and was so willing to teach me. I asked him if I could pay him to teach me more and he said that I could come to any of his shoots and he wouldn't charge me to observe and walk me through things. I haven't had a chance to do it yet, but I'm so grateful he offered and I'm excited to eventually learn more.
