Pinterest

Let's talk about pinterest...usually my pins end up being an idea that I never carry out.  Maybe I'll have a goal of doing one pinterest project a week. I want to make a kite with Audrey, I want to sew the shirt I've been meaning to get to, and finish the quilt I started, and print out photos for my gallery wall. Speaking of sewing.  I was working on the curtains for my living room a few weeks ago (one step in the right direction).  They arrived a little longer than I wanted them, so I went to work sewing in the evening.  Sewing always reminds me of my Mom.  There are so many times that I sat at her feet while she sewed clothes, my prom dresses, wedding dresses, pajamas, barbie clothes,and much more.  I'm not nearly as good as she is but I love listening to the hum of my machine and imagining I'm there at her feet again.  I still like to watch her sew.  I hope I can share similar things with Audrey and create memories that will last a life time.  

One of our projects last week was trying out homemade chalk paint which went much better than I thought.  At first it looked like we were painting with water but when it dried I was happy to see it actually looked like chalk.  If you haven't tried it you should.  It provided at least an hour of entertainment.  I'm still deciding what we will do this week.  Here's hoping I will finish all the unfinished projects I have awaiting me.
